As part of its move to eradicate corruption in Nigeria, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Monday, Feb 21.

EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa met NYSC Director-General, Maj.-Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja to formalize the existing partnership between the agencies for the fight against corruption and economic crimes in Nigeria.

According to Bawa, the MoU would serve as a guide on what the EFCC and the NYSC would be doing from time to time to actualize the course. He explained that though the job of the EFCC required trained officers, corps members have always contributed to its successes when the agency has a shortage of staff members.

On his part, Shuaibu noted that the NYSC Community Development Service (CDS) has been creating awareness for the EFCC in the fight against corruption, adding that corps members are ever willing to put in their best in this regard.

Shuaibu further urged the EFCC to arrest fraudsters extorting Nigerians through social media, with the promise of influencing their posting, redeployment, or relocation.
