Bayero University Commences N15,000 Part-time Job Scheme For Students

The Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University Kano (BUK) Prof Sagir Adamu Abbas, has brought up a scheme for on-campus part-time job in which 125 students have been employed.

The scheme is aimed at helping the students earn legitimate money by rendering some services to the university.

The Vice Chancellor, who launched the scheme last Friday, mentioned that the scheme was the first of its kind introduced in the university. He has said it is a part of the promise he made to improve the welfare of the students.

He has related that it was a special day for him as he has been able to fulfill one of his promises which he made, noting that the essence of the scheme is to make life comfortable for students.

According to him, the employed students would be engaged in work activities which include cleanliness, monitoring, and supervision of university facilities, surveillance to ensure a secure environment, and other menial jobs that may arise.

He revealed that each student would be paid N15,000 monthly. This he said is subject to being cleared by their supervisor after meeting the necessary requirements.
