Young Nigerian Who Left UNILAG To Study Abroad Celebrates Joining Microsoft

Young Nigerian who abandoned his Mechanical Engineering program at the University of Lagos, Nigeria to study in South Korea has been hired by Microsoft in the USA as a Software Engineer intern.

The young boy named Ifeoluwakolopin Are was admitted by the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Nigeria to study Mechanical Engineering in 2018. He however abandoned his admission after securing admission to Minerva University, United States of America.

Based on the program of Minerva University in USA, students are to enrol for their first year in Seoul, South Korea.

Ifeoluwakolopin as a fresh student in the Department of Computer Science of the university thereby went for his first-year study in South Korea.

After completing the second semester of his first year in South Korea, Ifeoluwakolopin got a huge offer from Microsoft, Washington DC, in the USA to join them as a Software Engineer intern. Microsoft as one of the leading technology companies in the world provides internship opportunities for exceptional undergraduate and graduate students.

Celebrating his achievement, Ifeoluwakolpin reflected on his time in South Korea and expressed optimism to learn in Microsoft.

“I had the opportunity to spend the last four months immersing myself in a different culture, exploring beautiful places in Seoul, and meeting new people,” he wrote on Linkedin.

He also revealed that he will be opportune to complete his study at Minerva University, USA obtaining knowledge and classroom experience in 6 different cities around the world.
