A 300l University of Abuja student, Pelumi Juwon has called on popular Nigerian singer, Davido, popular Nigerian billionaire businessmen, Femi Otedola, and Obi Cubana to help Nigerian students avoid strike actions.
He stated that such strike action has not brought
anything good to Nigerian students and the education sector of the country sending
students home in the name of strike action would worsen the social and economic
conditions of Nigerian students.
He said, Femi Otedola Foundation has done so much in
terms of promoting the welfare of the human race especially Nigerians who are
in need.
Juwon stated that Obi Cubana and Davido has been helping
a lot of people in Nigeria and can also strengthen their assistance to Nigerian
students.
He expanded that not less than 70% of Nigerian students
in public institutions are unable to pay their school fees. As for me it took
me a couple of months to hustle for my school and hostel fees. I start hustle
for school fee at every second semester of each session to be able to pay for
next session fees and handouts and also some students like that.
"There is a lot of ways that our celebrities can
contribute to the education sector of the country and also help Nigerian
students", he added.
"We need your help, we are trying but very difficult
for us, do bursary, set up special foundation for students, contribute to our
success and be part of our dairy".
