Menstrual pain, menstrual cramps, period pain, PMS, dysmenorrhea or whatever name we call it, is something that most girls go through at some point in their lives. Some experience it once a while, some, a few times and others experience it for a longer time.

According to WebMD, Menstrual cramps happen because of contractions in the uterus, or womb, which is a muscle. If it contracts too strongly during your menstrual cycle, it can press against nearby blood vessels. This briefly cuts off oxygen to the uterus. It’s this lack of oxygen that causes your pain and cramping.

If you started puberty early, bleed heavily during your periods, experience irregular menstrual bleeding, smoking, aged under 30 or have a family history of menstrual cramps, WebMD states that these factors put you at a higher risk of menstrual cramps.

I've seen so many girls, including myself go through terrible pain during their period. You'd see some rolling on the floor, crying, vomiting, stooling, getting ill, even as far as going to the hospital because of the unbearable pain.

Medical News Today also gave some symptoms of menstrual cramps which may include:

1.   pain in the lower back and thighs

2.   nausea and vomiting

3.   sweating

4.   faintness and dizziness

5.   diarrhea or loose stools

6.   constipation

7.   bloating

8.   headaches

Meanwhile, Healthline says taking pain relief over-the-counter medications such as ibuprofen, applying heat, warm shower, massaging with essential oils, avoiding certain foods such as fatty foods, carbonated beverages, caffeine etc and adding herbs to our diet are ways we can relief menstrual cramps.

However, our major hit point in this article is to find out foods that can actually help our cub period pain. Natra Care mentioned:

Others suggest avocado, oranges, herbal teas and fennel.

To me it's just anyone that works for you 😉 -my opinion tho. Personally, pain relief medication works for me and i also found out that whenever i take cold ice cream or yogurt on my period it reduces the pain! 😀😀😀
