Fountain University Suspends Convocation Ceremony Due to COVID-19

The academic management of Fountain University in Osogbo, Osun state, Nigeria has suspended its convocation ceremony due to the second wave of Covid-19 in the country.

The institution gave the announcement in a statement by the university's registrar,
Dr. Kikelemo W.Sallie on Tuesday, 5th January 2021.

Fountain University Convocation Ceremony:  At its 101st meeting held on Wednesday 23rd, December 2020 senate reviewed the general situation in the country, especially as it affects the educational sector. 

it resolved that due to the in-habitations occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic over the past year and even now, the 10th Convocation should be suspended for 2021 and combined with the 11th edition which will hold in January 2022. 

The suspension will allow for proper preparation and organization of a befitting event for which the university has been known since its inception.

Consequently, the Award of Honorary Doctorate Degrees( honoris causa) to Dr. AWA Ibrahim Professor Nurudeen ‘Nimbe Adedipe and Prof Toyin Falola, will be differed until the 2022 convocation when a physical ceremony is expected to hold.
