*UNILAG Senate To Appoint New Acting VC On Monday, August 24

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Senate will be appointing a new acting Vice Chancellor today Monday, August 24 2020. The meeting was recommended by the Ministry of Education on Friday, August 21 prior to the institution's current crisis rendering the University Of Lagos without a VC.

Based on reports, the special visitation panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari will be carrying out its investigation therewith. The leadership crisis in the institution had climaxed into the suspension of pro-chancellor Wale Babalakin and Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, the vice-chancellor, by an order from President Buhari.

However recall that Earlier after Professor Theophilus Omotunde Soyombo was appointed to take the place of Ogundipe as the acting vice-chancellor of UNILAG on Friday, August 14 has already stepped down as directed by President Buhari after staying in office for 10 days.
