UNILAG: "Your school is the Headquarters of Prostitution in Nigeria" — Kemi Olunloyo

Controversial Investigative reporter, Dr Olukemi Olunloyo took to her twitter page this morning to point out to the administrators of the university of lagos that their students are holding down the fort in famous prostitution houses and hotspots in lagos.

She further accuses the school of not graduating the majority of their female students as they drop out of school to pursue a career in organized prostitution and are largely contributing to the increase in the spread of HIV in the Lekki area of Lagos.

This accusation was met with a lot of clap back as netizens schooled her on stereotypes and its dangers. One netizen said “madam, I do not see the sense in what you said, is it the problem of the school or the student’s family? You didn’t talk about parenting, you are talking about school. Yes they issue certificates of Education and morals but it is not their core duty to train a student on morals”.

Another netizen bluntly asked that the investigative reporter should focus on the right issues and not prostitution”

Other responses from netizens  were in defense of the school and the country  in their responses “Not just Unilag, Most tertiary institution students do the same”.

“ We don't wash our dirty linens in front of others, I believe you should have protected them outside before posting this. We should learn to protect our names outside for the sake of our children including yours. It looks unprofessional you can do better ma, speak on high fees and insecurities”
